Artonomy Art Psychotherapy

Louise is a registered Art Psychotherapist and a trained Creative Arts Therapy Supervisor with the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapies (IACAT). She is an executive council member for IACAT and elected Vicechair. Louise is also a member of the Ecopsychology & Ecotherapy Association of Ireland (EEAI). She is co-founder and director at Artonomy, an Art Psychotherapy Centre in Dun Laoghaire where she holds her private practice working mainly with adults and adolescents. Having spent fifteen years in adult mental health her experience is wide ranging. Louise designed and facilitated the therapeutic arts programme in a residential addiction clinic. In this role she worked mainly with dual diagnoses which included (but was not limited to) psychosis, depression, childhood sexual abuse, family separation, personality disorders, loss and suicide. She has worked in other organisations and schools in Ireland and internationally with marginalised groups. In her private practice she works with various issues including anxiety, depression, suicide, self-harm, sexual trauma, eating disorders and ASD. While these issues inform how Louise might approach her work with each client, at the core of her practice she is concerned with the person and not the diagnosis. Louise's Art Psychotherapy practice extends to working outdoors in green areas. BA (Hons.), MSc., Cert., MIACAT, MNIGAT, MEEAI
