Qualifications & Experience

Qualification I have a Bachelor's degree and Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy; this means I can provide a tailored and unique service to each person that comes for therapy, because I have comprehensive training in multiple modalities. My holistic approach comes from having a strong foundation in humanistic and psychodynamic training where the therapeutic relationship is founded on core conditions around respect and transparency.

Approach My practice is founded on providing a safe, steady presence for the people that attend my practice for therapy.
I am committed to the therapeutic relationship, to endeavour to understand another's emotional world, with respect and without judgement. I make a welcome here for our multi cultural society, and maintain a safe and affirming space for our whole community.
I believe we all possess an inherent ability to heal and to know ourselves and that we all have the skills we need within us to do that. Having another person to work these things through with, to listen compassionately, and to explore with, can be a great help.
I regard my clients as experts on themselves, and within the partnership we form my aim is to support a persons exploration and discovery of resilience, autonomy and self-worth.
It's my job to support you, understand you, walk with you, and meet you where you are.

FAQs

What is Integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is not a rigid approach, instead it is focuses on the whole person and blends different techniques and therapy modalities. This promotes personalised treatment, identification of patterns and holistic treatment.

What can you expect in the first session?

The first session usually involves a conversation to understand your therapy goals and your expectations and what brings you to therapy in the first place. Its an opportunity to see if we are a good match, to see how you feel in the space, and for you to consider if you feel like proceeding.

How will I know if a therapist is right for me?

After choosing a therapist with training and experience, it's really important to trust how you feel. The process of therapy isn't always easy, but you should expect to feel reasonably comfortable with the therapist in the first session, even if you are nervous. Give yourself some time, ask questions if it feels right, or clarify them afterwards if that helps you to make a decision. I think the hardest, bravest step, can be walking in the door, the first time.
