Hi, my name is Aidan Murray. I am a psychotherapist with three years of experience and a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). I provide individual therapy sessions both in person and online.
I have availability for in-person appointments on my booking page
I have experience working with clients to address issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, behaviour changes, attachment, relational difficulties, and recovery from abuse.
I integrate elements from different therapeutic approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), and Relational Life Therapy (RLT). I believe therapy is whatever works. I seek to work collaboratively with each client to tailor my approach to their needs. My training primarily focused on the Person-Centered Therapy approach, which emphasizes following rather than leading the client. However, if the client prefers a more directive approach, I can assist in setting goals between sessions, sharing insights, suggesting activities, and recommending useful resources. I like to collaborate on an equal footing, providing psychoeducation on the theory behind an approach so that the client and I are on the same page. I pay attention to the somatic (the body) and the relationship between the body and the mind. I place a lot of emphasis on safety and going at the client's pace.
