About Me

I hold a Cert in Play Therapy Skills, B.A (Hons) in Social Care Practice and M.A in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am an accredited member with APCP (Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists in Ireland).

I am an accredited therapist who works with adults on an individual basis. I work from an Integrative approach which means I believe there isn't just one therapeutic approach to use when working with a client. I feel it is important to take into account you as an individual and also your circumstances. Therefore, it may be more beneficial to use different approaches to help you explore your issues or difficulties. I believe each person has the capacity for growth in their own lives. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and empathic space to my clients.

Experience

Counselling for 6 years

I have over 15 years experience working with adults with Intellectual and Mental difficulties in the Disability Sector. While completing my Masters with ICHAS I spent spent several years working with Carlow and South Leinster Rape Crisis Centre. I offer a safe space for clients to speak freely and open about their experiences without judgement. In 2023 I began working in private practice. I have also completed standard training in EMDR and Couples Therapy training.

Approach

I believe that therapy really gives you the opportunity and space to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe way. By doing this, we give ourselves the best chance to develop and grow into the person we wish to be.
