About Me

As an experienced and accredited counsellor, I'm truly dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their healing journeys. My heart-centred approach is deeply rooted in the compassionate and transformative principles of Internal Family Systems (IFS). I firmly believe that within each of us lies a beautiful core of wisdom and healing, often just a little hidden by the 'parts'—those various internal voices and emotions—that we've developed to protect ourselves throughout life.
In our sessions, I'll gently guide you to explore your unique inner world, helping you foster deep self-compassion for all your parts. Together, we'll access your inherent Self-energy—that powerful inner resource characterized by qualities like curiosity, calm, courage, and connectedness. This empowers you to truly heal past wounds, gently navigate present difficulties, and create a more harmonious internal system.
My work is continuously shaped by extensive training and a heartfelt commitment to learning and growing, allowing me to offer you tailored and truly effective support. I'm passionate about empowering you to discover your incredible inner strengths and build lasting resilience for a more joyful life.
My practice offers a comfortable and private space for your sessions. I'm pleased to have two dedicated therapy rooms. One is a peaceful, traditional counselling space, perfect for quiet conversation and reflection. The other is specially designed for sand tray and art therapy, offering a wonderful alternative way for clients, especially adolescents, to express themselves and process emotions when words feel hard to find.
For your convenience, there's private parking available right at the rear of the building. And if you're bringing a young person for therapy, parents are warmly invited to use a separate, comfy room to relax and enjoy a coffee while they wait, if that's what they'd prefer. My aim is always to create an environment that feels truly supportive and welcoming for everyone who steps through the door.

Experience

Counselling for 5 years

I'm here to offer warm and understanding support for a range of concerns, including:
Bereavement & Loss: Walking through grief can feel overwhelming, and I offer heartfelt support as you navigate this profound journey, helping you find ways to integrate your loss and step forward. My practice name, Charray Paths Counselling, holds a very special place in my heart, named in loving memory of my son, Charlie Ray. This personal experience has deepened my empathy for the complexities of loss, making me especially dedicated to supporting others on their own unique paths through grief.
Childhood Trauma & Attachment: With my background in child development and therapeutic care, I offer a deep understanding and gentle support for anyone experiencing separation anxiety, attachment challenges, or the lasting impact of early life experiences on their well-being today.
Trauma & PTSD: Using EMDR Therapy alongside the compassionate framework of IFS, I'll help you gently process distressing memories and integrate challenging experiences, reducing their heavy impact on your daily life.
Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating: I provide sensitive and specialised support for Anorexia, Bulimia, Binge Eating Disorder, and other disordered eating patterns. We'll explore the protective roles these behaviours might play, fostering a healthier, more peaceful relationship with food, your body, and your inner world. When it's helpful for your well-being, I'm happy to work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure you receive comprehensive care.
Anxiety & Stress Management: We'll work together with your internal system to understand the parts that drive anxiety and stress, helping you access your Self-energy to calm overwhelmed feelings and discover effective, gentle ways to cope.
Depression & Low Mood: We'll compassionately explore the parts of you experiencing sadness or hopelessness, fostering self-kindness and finding gentle pathways toward greater lightness and joy.
Adolescent & Young Adult Mental Health: I offer a warm and specialised space for teenagers and young adults, helping them understand their inner dynamics, build resilience, and navigate the unique challenges of self-esteem, friendships, school stress, and growing into their own identity.
Self-Esteem & Confidence: Together, we can empower you to cultivate a stronger sense of self-worth and confidence by understanding and harmonizing internal critics and vulnerable parts.
Creative & Expressive Therapies
Sometimes, finding the words can be tough, especially for young people. That's why I'm delighted to offer creative approaches like sand tray and art therapy in one of my dedicated therapy rooms. These methods provide a gentle and imaginative way to explore thoughts, feelings, and process experiences without the pressure of needing to explain everything verbally. My work is continuously shaped by extensive training and a heartfelt commitment to learning and growing, allowing me to offer you tailored and truly effective support. I'm passionate about empowering you to discover your incredible inner strengths and build lasting resilience for a more joyful life.
