About Me

Deciding to start therapy can be a difficult decision to come to. When you are not feeling like yourself, it can seem particularly daunting. My aim, as a psychotherapist, is to work collaboratively with each client. I tailor each session to suit each individual in order to ensure and maintain emotional safety, working at a pace that suits you. Whatever you are wanting to explore or talk about, I am here to listen.

With an invested interest in working with trauma, I approach the therapeutic relationship with a compassionate presence, and aim to consistently resource clients through reminding them of their strengths and abilities. I endeavour to provide a safe space in which each client can feel understood, heard and comfortable.

I take a flexible approach to the therapeutic relationship, drawing from various modalities to meet the needs of each individual who works with me. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for change, and so work to build a strong relationship with each person.

Approach

I am an integrative psychotherapist, which means I draw on lots of different approaches to psychotherapy. Primarily, I work from a trauma-informed framework, which means that the work I do is set at a pace that each person I work with finds comfortable and safe. I place huge emphasis on the relationship between myself and each client, as I believe that a strong and respectful relationship acts as a vehicle for change.

By integrating mindfulness into my practice, I believe that it gives each client I work with a secure ground from which to move through their therapeutic process. By incorporating mindfulness into everyday life, it helps to keep us grounded and, in turn, helps us to learn new coping mechanisms on our journey of healing and growth.

Qualification

Being dedicated to ongoing learning over the past 8 years, I have been able to build a strong knowledge base from which I draw on in every session I facilitate. The honours degree that I completed in 2021 allowed me to get to know myself in a way I never expected to, and it also gave me the opportunity to develop the respect and gratitude that I hold for every person I have the opportunity to work with. Having spent many years in the client's chair, I understand how difficult yet rewarding the process of psychotherapy is, and I consistently aim to pay that respect forward to every person that I have the privilege of sitting with.
