About

I am a qualified, APCP pre-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with a BA (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy and over 300 hours of clinical experience.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing primarily on Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I believe that establishing a strong therapeutic relationship is fundamental to effective counselling, with particular emphasis on building rapport, empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard.

Central to my practice is the importance of understanding each client’s internal frame of reference, seeing the world through their perspective and appreciating their unique experiences without judgement.

I incorporate CBT-informed techniques to help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore the relationship between thoughts, emotions and behaviours, and develop practical coping strategies.

Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood and empowered to work towards meaningful personal change.

Experience
2+ years in Adolescent Counselling & Psycotherapy
I have two years of clinical counselling experience from my supervised placement with SOSAD Ireland in Drogheda, accumulating over three hundred hours of direct client work. My work involved supporting individuals presenting with a broad range of issues, including anxiety, depression, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and emotional distress. I work from an integrative framework, drawing mainly on person-centred and CBT approaches. My practice is grounded in empathy, authenticity, unconditional positive regard. And a deep commitment to understanding each client’s internal frame of reference. I am an APCP pre-accredited counsellor and psychotherapist with a BA Honours in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Approach My approach is grounded in person-centred values, and I focus on the core conditions of empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I think real growth happens when clients feel genuinely heard and understood and I aim to see the world through their eyes. Alongside this, yeah, I integrate CBT techniques when helpful. So for clients dealing with anxiety or OCD, offering structured tools where appropriate without losing that collaborative, humanistic base. So my aim is to create a safe, respectful space where clients feel empowered to grow at their own pace.
