Qualifications & Experience
Qualification CBT
Experience
9+ years in CBT
I am an enthusiastic psychology post graduate who has a good understanding of the neurological underpinnings of psychiatric illnesses due to my masters in neuroscience. I also have experience in facilitating mindfulness-based stress reduction classes (MBSR) and would
be a qualified trainee teacher registered with the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland (MTAI). In previous roles I have also had the experience of supporting therapists with group therapy, where we used therapeutic tools like life maps to help patients. Further to this I would have a certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Skills and Practices. I have also have recently qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) and would be one of the few fully qualified CBT therapists in Dublin. I have worked with people presenting with anxiety disorders such as Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, OCD, Social Anxiety, General Anxiety, Procrastination and Perfectionism. I have also helped those with depression with CBT skills and techniques. I would also work with both adults and young adults from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures. Moreover, I have
experience working within many different multidisciplinary teams and this has given me a good understanding of Clinical Governance and the importance it has in ensuring healthcare teams are accountable for the quality, safety and satisfaction of patients in the care they deliver.
