Sometimes life can feel tangled, and it's hard to know what to do with it. Maybe you keep finding yourself back in the same old stories, holding everything together for everyone else. Maybe something has happened, like a loss, a diagnosis, or a change you didn't choose. Or maybe there's no one thing, just a feeling that won't settle.
I'm an integrative, person-centred therapist offering session in person in Ardnatrush between Ballylickey and Glengariff, close to Bantry. There's no set method; the work grows out of what we bring and the relationship we build. Sometimes it's about looking deeper. Sometimes it's simply about being heard. We will explore that together.
Whatever it is, you don't have to work it out on your own. Therapy can be somewhere to say it out loud and be heard and seen, not just told "shur it'll be grand." Wherever you're starting from is the place to begin. It starts with a free 15-minute phone call, a chance to ask questions and see if this feels right for you.

I'm Myrthe, a psychotherapist and counsellor in West Cork. I work with adults in person at Ardnatrush, between Ballylickey and Glengarriff, and online across Ireland. I'm also a counsellor at ARC Cancer Support Services in Bantry, and I facilitate embodied movement groups.
Before training in psychotherapy, I spent 25 years as a holistic massage therapist and teacher. It taught me a lot about listening, about how much people can carry, and about the difference it makes to really connect with another person.
BA (Hons) Counselling & Psychotherapy, MTU. Pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP).
Approach I'm an integrative, person-centred therapist. Therapy is something we make together.
No set method.
The work grows out of what you bring and the relationship we build.
The body is part of it.
Our bodies often hold what words haven't reached yet. Noticing that is a natural part of how I work.
At your pace.
Sometimes it's about looking deeper. Sometimes it's simply about being heard.
Over time, the grip of the same old stories can loosen, and there's more room to choose.
