Approach I am, first and foremost, a person-centered therapist with a strong emphasis on self-compassion. When we look at "what happened to me" (Dr. Bruce Perry), as opposed to "what's wrong with me," we begin to develop the compassion for ourselves that we so easily give to others. Understanding how our life experiences may have affected us and how we see the world is deeply empowering, and what allows us to begin to move forward where we were previously stuck.
