About

I am an APCP Accredited Psychotherapist based in Ireland, with extensive clinical experience in both Ireland and the United States. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and previously founded and directed a behavioural health organisation in Colorado.

My approach to psychotherapy is integrative, drawing primarily on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I believe therapy should be collaborative, practical, and tailored to the individual, providing a space where clients feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, addiction, relationship difficulties, workplace stress, and significant life transitions. My professional background also includes crisis intervention, occupational mental health, and working with individuals navigating complex personal circumstances.

My practice offers a confidential, welcoming environment, with both in-person and online appointments available. My goal is not simply to help clients manage immediate difficulties, but to help them develop greater self-understanding, resilience, and the confidence to move forward in ways that reflect their own values.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualification I am an **APCP Accredited Psychotherapist** in Ireland, holding a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University in Colorado, USA. My graduate programme was accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) and included extensive academic study, clinical assessment training, supervised practicum, and clinical internships.

I also hold Master's degrees in Health Administration and Theology, providing additional academic foundations in healthcare systems, organisational leadership, ethics, and human behaviour.

Following my graduate training, I completed approximately 2,000 hours of postgraduate supervised clinical practice and subsequently practised as a licensed professional counsellor in the United States.

My professional development has included additional training and experience in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, addiction treatment, psychological assessment, and clinical risk management.

I have since completed the requirements for professional accreditation in Ireland through the Association of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists (APCP), maintaining professional indemnity insurance and engaging in ongoing clinical supervision and continuing professional development.
Experience
8+ years in Psychotherapy
I am an APCP Accredited Psychotherapist with extensive experience in clinical mental health, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, forensic psychology-related work, addiction treatment, and behavioural healthcare leadership in the United States and Ireland.

I hold three Master's degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Health Administration, and Theology. My clinical training includes a CACREP-accredited graduate counselling programme, extensive supervised clinical practice, and several years of postgraduate experience providing psychotherapy and mental health services across diverse populations.

Before relocating to Ireland, I founded and served as Clinical Director of Integrated Insight, a behavioural health organisation in Colorado. In this role, I provided direct psychotherapy while overseeing clinical services, developing treatment programmes, supervising multidisciplinary teams, and coordinating care with healthcare providers, government agencies, and community organisations.

My professional experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, complex trauma, PTSD, addiction, grief, relationship difficulties, emotional dysregulation, and significant life transitions. I have worked extensively with individuals experiencing acute psychological crises, including suicidal ideation, self-harm, and severe emotional distress.

I have also worked in forensic and criminal justice environments, providing clinical assessment, psychotherapy, and consultation involving incarcerated individuals, court-involved clients, and complex behavioural presentations. My professional responsibilities have included providing clinical testimony and serving as an expert witness within the American court system.

My crisis intervention experience includes responding to emergencies in hospitals, schools, private residences, correctional facilities, and community settings. I have supported law enforcement officers, healthcare professionals, government employees, and other individuals affected by traumatic incidents, occupational stress, and critical events.

Additional areas of professional experience include addiction and recovery services, family systems, child welfare, Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) services, and working with culturally diverse communities, including Indigenous populations in the United States.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, with particular emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), cognitive-behavioural principles, and trauma-informed practice. I combine clinical assessment and psychological understanding with practical, collaborative interventions tailored to each client's circumstances, goals, and values.

Now practising in Ireland, I bring an international clinical perspective, extensive experience with complex presentations, and a commitment to providing thoughtful, ethical, and accessible psychotherapy. I offer both online and in-person sessions, helping clients develop self-understanding, strengthen coping skills, navigate difficult experiences, and pursue meaningful, lasting change.
Approach My approach to psychotherapy is **integrative, collaborative, and person-centred**, drawing primarily on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), alongside cognitive-behavioural and trauma-informed principles.

I believe effective therapy begins with understanding the individual rather than simply treating a diagnosis. I work with clients to explore the relationship between their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, personal experiences, and values, identifying patterns that may contribute to their current difficulties.

My approach balances psychological insight with practical intervention. Rather than focusing exclusively on symptoms or past experiences, I help clients develop psychological flexibility, recognise unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping skills, and make meaningful changes consistent with their personal values.

I believe the therapeutic relationship should be built on trust, honesty, empathy, and mutual respect. I do not believe in imposing solutions or telling clients how to live their lives. Instead, I work alongside them, helping them develop the understanding, confidence, and skills necessary to make their own informed choices.

Ultimately, my goal is not simply symptom reduction, but helping individuals build more fulfilling, authentic, and psychologically resilient lives.
