FAQs

Frequently asked Questions.

1. What can I expect in the first session? The first session is a gentle, structured space where we explore what brings you to therapy. You won’t be rushed — we go at your pace, and there is no pressure to share more than you feel ready for. ________________________________________ 2. What types of issues do you work with? I support clients with anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and overwhelm. I also work with individuals experiencing burnout and emotional regulation difficulties. ________________________________________ 3. What is your approach to therapy? My work is trauma-informed, integrating psychodynamic therapy, somatic awareness, and elements of CBT. I focus on helping you understand your patterns while also building practical tools for day-to-day coping. ________________________________________ 4. Do I have to talk about everything straight away? No. Therapy moves at your pace. We focus on building safety first, and you are always in control of what you choose to share. ________________________________________ 5. How long are sessions and how often do I attend? Sessions are typically 50 minutes. We usually begin weekly or fortnightly, depending on your needs, and review this together as we go. ________________________________________ 6. Do you offer online or in-person sessions? I offer both in-person sessions in Limerick and online sessions for flexibility. ________________________________________ 7. How do I know if therapy is working? You may begin to notice small changes such as feeling more understood, less overwhelmed, or more able to cope. We regularly review progress together. ________________________________________ 8. What if I feel nervous about starting therapy? This is very common. Starting therapy can feel daunting, and we take this into account. The first step is simply showing up — everything else follows at your pace. ________________________________________ 9. What are your fees? Please see my profile for current session fees. Payment is typically made in advance through the booking system. ________________________________________ 10. What is your cancellation policy? I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or missed sessions may be charged. ________________________________________ 11. Is therapy confidential? Yes. Everything you share is confidential, with the usual professional exceptions which will be explained in our first session. ________________________________________ 12. How do I get started? You can book directly through my profile. If you have any questions before booking, you’re welcome to reach out.
