About

David is a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP). He achieved a Distinction in his B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. He also holds a B.A.(Mod) in Business Studies and Economics from Trinity College and an M.Sc. in Business Finance which preceded a 25-year career as a Trader in the Financial Markets, working in Investment Banks and Fund Management.

David welcomes clients with his kindness, warmth, humour, and insight, prioritising the therapeutic relationship, through mutual respect and the building of trust. David’s approach is mainly humanistic, including personal experience, potential, responsibility, and meaning in one’s life.

He has experience working with grief, intimate partner violence (domestic abuse), suicide bereavement, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, issues with eating and issues with sexuality.

He works collaboratively, sharing decision making and tailoring treatment to the individual. He is passionate about the ability of therapy to improve lives.

David has completed additional training including Suicide Intervention Skills, Understanding Self Harm, Complicated Grief, Suicide Bereavement and Working Professionally Online.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualification I achieved a Distinction (the highest garde) in my B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I also hold a B.A.(Mod) in Business Studies and Economics from Trinity College and an M.Sc. in Business Finance from Brunel University, London.

I worked in the Village Counselling Service in Tallaght since 2023 and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there.

I started in ZestLife in January 2026.

I have experience working with grief, intimate partner violence (domestic abuse), suicide bereavement, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, issues with eating and issues with sexuality.
